A proven entrepreneur, Mr. Berthelot is a veteran midstream executive with a two-decade record of over $2 billion in successful assets transacted with significant return-on-investment. Mr. Berthelot has successfully founded, operated, and sold numerous natural gas midstream companies including Laser I (2005 - 2007), Laser Northeast Gathering Company “LNE” (2008 - 2012), Azure Midstream Company “Azure” (2012 – 2022), and Laser Midstream Energy, LLC (2021 – present).

 Started in 2005, Laser I acquired, owned and operated 28 natural gas gathering and processing assets in Texas and Louisiana and was sold to Eagle Rock Energy Partners, L.P. in 2007. LNE developed a 1.4 billion cubic feet per day (“Bcfd”) gas gathering system in Northeast Pennsylvania and Southern New York until it sold to Delphi Midstream Partners, LLC in 2010. Berthelot remained as the president until LNE sold to Williams in 2012.  Azure acquired, merged and operated three complementary natural gas gathering systems consisting of more than 1,300 miles of pipelines connecting North Louisiana and East Texas supply basins to 20+ existing major intrastate and interstate pipelines in the region. The pipelines have a combined delivery capacity of 4 Bcfd. Azure was sold in February 2022 to Clearfork Midstream.

 In addition to his career as an entrepreneur, Berthelot was President of a privately owned midstream company and COO at MidCoast Energy Resources, Inc., the predecessor gathering and processing business of Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P. Berthelot earned a bachelor’s degree in natural gas engineering from Texas A&M University – Kingsville University (fka Texas A & I University) and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.

 One of Berthelot’s core values is “make a difference”, which has led him into a love of both youth sports and education.  The youth sports passion led to support thru volunteer coaching and continues in support of friends, relatives and team members children as a fan and donor with the hope of coaching/volunteering for my grandkid’s activities!!  Being a firm believer in and supporter of education reform thru support of both Cristo Rey Jesuit Jesuit College Preparatory School & Yes Prep Public School, both in Houston.

 Because of his core belief in “giving back”, Berthelot serves as a Trustee on the Texas A & M University - Kingsville Texas A & M University – Kingsville Board of Trustees, where he was recently honored with both Distinguished Alumni and admitted into the TAMUK Engineering Hall of Fame.

 Berthelot is the proud father and grandfather of 4 children and 2 grandchildren.
