POSITION SUMMARY:        

Responsible for providing technical oversight and project management for midstream projects related to construction, operations, measurement, maintenance and integrity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential duties/responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and coordinate both internal and external engineering, simulation, design resources and upgrades for pipelines, compressor stations and natural gas processing/treating plants
  • Support operating teams in implementing and maintaining PSM programs at assigned PSM facilities, including PHA, MOC and audit support
  • Provide project updates to key company officers
  • Support business development team with due diligence items on future acquisitions

Current Assets:

    Capacity and Efficiencies

  • Model and evaluate capacity performance of gathering pipelines, plants and compressors
  • Pipeline and plant hydraulics, compressor runs and process simulations

   Pipeline Integrity

  • Coordinate with operations manager(s) and other team leads to ensure Integrity Management Programs for pipelines and facilities are implemented and effective
  • Operational pigging, smart tool schedule and bids, internal and external corrosion

   Measurement

  • Understanding of natural gas and natural gas liquids measurement
  • Meter station design
  • Ensure gas contract compliance with meter testing and gas analysis
  • Complete line balance for pipeline systems and material balance for plants

   Compression

  • Design new stations and/or expansions to infrastructure and horsepower
  • Manage rental/owned fleet and maintenance schedules
  • Perform compressor runs to optimize compressor efficiencies

   Dehydration and Amine Treaters

  • Design new stations and/or expansions
  • Perform simulations to optimize treating efficiencies and capacities

   Project Management

  •  Develop and manage capital budget
  • Design well connects, pipeline extensions and associated compressor/treating facilities
  • Complete bid packages for capital projects to define project scope, material specifications, scheduling requirements, and deliverables
  • Size and specify mechanical equipment, including separators, filters, tanks, heat exchangers, air coolers, pumps, compressors, and dehydrators. Select appropriate piping and vessel materials, diameters and thicknesses to meet design requirements
  • Ensure construction and operational projects are completed safely, in compliance with all regulatory requirements, on time and on budget
  • Assist project managers in overseeing construction and commissioning of multi-discipline capital projects

Future Assets:

Due Diligence

  • Review/create line balance for pipeline system and plant balance
  • Simulate pipeline hydraulics studies to optimize efficiencies
  • Evaluate compressor fleet, review maintenance program and determine future maintenance schedule and capital costs
  • Develop future capital budget for assets
  • Review current pipeline integrity program (pigging schedule, smart tool schedule, chemical program)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • B.S Degree in Engineering from an accredited college

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A highly motivated self-starter with the ability to handle assignments and projects with minimal supervision, and the ability to complete tasks within specified time frames 
  • Familiarity with pipeline and processing simulation software
  • 2+ years of combined technical experience in engineering, maintenance or operations
  • Must be able to read and interpret project technical information such as PFD’s, P&ID’s, equipment specifications, and relevant construction drawings
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the company
  • Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint Project, and Outlook
  • Strong knowledge of CFR 192, 195, API 510, 570, 653, 1104 and B31G
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Houston or the surrounding areas
  • This position requires occasional out of town work, including overnight travel
